01 / OVERVIEW
What Is an Affiliate Link?
Some links on Outland Bound may be affiliate links. This means that if you click one of those links and make a qualifying purchase, Outland Bound may receive a small commission from the retailer or affiliate program.
Using an affiliate link does not normally increase the price you pay for the product.
02 / WHY WE USE THEM
Supporting Outland Bound
Affiliate commissions may help support the operation and development of Outland Bound, including website hosting, outdoor research, content creation, photography, equipment research, and future outdoor guides.
Outland Bound may also link to products without using an affiliate link. Not every product link on the website should be assumed to generate a commission.
03 / RECOMMENDATIONS
How Products Are Selected
Outland Bound aims to focus on products and equipment that are relevant to hiking, camping, paddling, outdoor safety, navigation, lighting, power, organization, comfort, and trip preparation.
A potential commission does not guarantee that a product will be recommended. Product recommendations may be based on usefulness, features, value, research, personal experience when applicable, and relevance to the particular outdoor activity being discussed.
04 / PRODUCT EXPERIENCE
Not Every Product Is Personally Tested
Some products discussed or linked on Outland Bound may be personally used or observed, while others may be included based on research, manufacturer information, product specifications, customer feedback, or general usefulness for a particular activity.
Outland Bound will not intentionally represent a product as personally tested when it has not been personally tested.
05 / PRICING
Prices and Availability Can Change
Product prices, discounts, availability, specifications, shipping terms, and retailer policies can change at any time.
The retailer's website should always be considered the current source for final pricing, availability, product details, and purchase terms.
06 / AFFILIATE PROGRAMS
Participating Programs
Outland Bound may participate in one or more affiliate programs offered by retailers, outdoor companies, affiliate networks, or other businesses.
Specific affiliate relationships may change over time. When a program requires specific disclosure language, Outland Bound may provide additional disclosure near the relevant links or elsewhere on the website.
07 / INDEPENDENCE
Affiliate Relationships Do Not Control the Guides
The goal of Outland Bound is to provide practical outdoor information and useful recommendations.
Affiliate relationships are intended to support the website rather than determine the subject of every guide, recommendation, or article.
08 / SAFETY
Gear Does Not Replace Good Judgment
Purchasing outdoor equipment does not remove the risks associated with hiking, camping, paddling, changing weather, wildlife, water, or remote areas.
Always choose equipment appropriate for your situation and follow current local regulations, manufacturer instructions, weather information, and safety guidance.
